The 101-layer Damascus utility knife is a versatile everyday blade for tasks that need more control than a chef's knife. Use it for slicing and trimming fruits and vegetables, carving smaller cuts and handling general prep where precision matters.

The SG2 microcarbide steel core is engineered for a very hard, fine edge, and this blade is rated at 63 Rockwell hardness. The Cryodur hardening process is used to support initial sharpness, cutting edge retention, corrosion resistance and a balance of hardness and flexibility.

The 101-layer Damascus utility knife is hand-finished with a three-step honbazuke process. It is sharpened twice on whetstones with custom grits, then mirror polished on a leather wheel, with the edge set to 9.5° to 12° on both sides.

A genuine hamon edge is the visible line that shows where the flexible outer layers meet the incredibly hard core layer. On this Damascus knife, that line is a hallmark of craftsmanship and is reminiscent of traditional Japanese swordmaking.

The Masur birch D-shape handle is designed to feel secure and comfortable, even during frequent use. It also features refined details, including a mosaic center pin, red detailing and an engraved endcap.
